The seventh season of Station 19 will not air in June 2023.

Station 19, like Chicago Fire, is a long-running firefighter drama. It seems like these days, every TV network has their own firefighting drama, and Station 19 recently wrapped up its sixth season on ABC.

Unfortunately, this means that Station 19 won’t be returning to ABC in June. Instead, it will follow its usual fall schedule and be absent from the network’s schedule for the next several months. The show has, historically, aired its episodes between September and May, and then taken off summer months as a means of prepping the next season.

Is Station 19 renewed for season 7?

This is the plan, at least. The writer’s strike has the potential to complicate matters, depending on how long it will go on. There haven’t been developments for the strike in terms of negotiations, so the belief is that it will stretch pretty far into the summer.

There’s also the belief that the actors will go on strike at some point as well, which will further the need to resolve contract disputes. If both of these strikes go for as long as industry insiders are anticipating, than fans could see their favorite shows get delayed.

On the bright side, Station 19 is guaranteed to return, since ABC recently renewed the show. The Hollywood Reporter stated that the firefighting drama will be back for season 7, and that it will be boasting new showrunners in Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige.

“I’m beyond honored to be handed the reins to Station 19 — a show I love, full of incredible, complex characters, and resonant, important stories,” Paige said in a written statement. “To get to partner with a talent like Zoanne as showrunners truly makes it all the more exciting.”

These two will be taking over for Krista Vernoff, who made her name as a showrunner on Grey’s Anatomy and announced her plans to step down from both shows earlier this year.
