Following her performance, Liebe stated, "They kind of need me." The judges, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan, were left perplexed by Liebe's sudden departure from the stage. Liebe was brought back onto the stage when the judges asked to speak with her.

Liebe acknowledged that she may regret leaving American Idol in the future. The previous contender had stood out as truly newsworthy days before when the episode of her tryout circulated on ABC. Liebe went on to say that Perry made her feel like a bad mom.


The judges at Liebe's audition were surprised that she was 25 years old because they thought she could have been 16. However, when she revealed that she was expecting three children, they were even more shocked. Perry joked that she was going to fall back on the judge's table as she got out of her chair.


Liebe then shared her contemplations on her TikTok account that the joke "wasn't really kind," additionally adding, "It was humiliating to have that on television and it was frightful, and that's all there is to it. But I did want to use this opportunity to say that I think it's cool that women support and encourage other women, and that mom shaming is really stupid.
