Hallmark is now finishing up filming for “When Calls The Heart” Season 10 and fans are already throwing it out there that the show should receive a Season 11! When Calls The Heart is currently the biggest show on Hallmark so they should just renew the series for an extra 10 season!

Inspired by Janette Oke’s bestselling book series about the Canadian West, “When Calls the Heart” follows the story of a young schoolteacher and single mother, Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow), in the quaint town of Hope Valley.

When her husband is suddenly killed on duty, she must find the courage and strength to move forward. With the help and guidance of the townspeople and her friends, she adjusts to the ever-changing times and the people that enter her life.

Other central characters include Rosemary Coulter (Pascale Hutton), Elizabeth’s best friend, the town’s loveable busybody once described as “part Broadway showgirl, part Frontier woman,” and her patient husband, the upstanding businessman Leland Coulter (Kavan Smith).

Judge Bill Avery (Jack Wagner) works hard to protect the town and to cement his position as Hope Valley’s ultimate authority. Fairly new to the community are Mountie Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) and saloon owner Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally), who both vie for the attention of Elizabeth.

With the added pressure on deciding between her suitors, writing a novel and taking care of her son, Elizabeth continues to teach the children of Hope Valley all while trying to navigate the challenges in her life.

Canadian actress Pascale Hutton (known from “When Calls the Heart” series on Hallmark) chatted about her new thriller “Double Life.”

The movie will be available on Digital and in select theaters on May 5 via Paramount. The synopsis is: A grieving widow learns from her late husband’s mistress that his death was no accident. The two women will form an unlikely alliance to uncover the truth behind his murder and unmask the man they both loved.

On being a part of “Double Life,” she said, “It was amazing. I really loved the experience from start to finish. I’ve been doing a lot of Hallmark projects but I was excited about diving into a different genre and a very different character that I have played in recent times.”

“Doing a movie with two female protagonists is really exciting. There aren’t a lot of scripts that have two women at the forefront, so everything about the premise of the movie was thrilling to me,” she added.

Hutton complimented her fellow leading lady Javicia Leslie. “I loved working with her. She is incredibly talented and very intelligent and thoughtful with the way she approaches scenes. She is starting to become a director so she was really keen on looking at things from that angle,” she said.

“On top of that, Javicia was really collaborative, and we would have long conversations about scenes and these women, who formed an unlikely partnership,” she added.

“It was wonderful, it was a really unconventional partnership on camera but it made perfect sense off camera and we clicked right away,” Hutton said.

Motivations

“I want to do material that I am really excited about, and that’s a really intangible element. It is going to be something different on each project. In this particular project, I was excited to work on a movie with these two women and their complicated relationship at the forefront of the movie. They worked through that and ended up leaning on one another and supporting one another.”

“In ‘Double Life,’ the script was very exciting, and the fact that Javicia and I connected so quickly was an added bonus,” she added.

Hutton acknowledged that every moment in her career has taught her something. “If it doesn’t teach you something, then you are probably making the wrong choices,” she said. On the title of the current chapter of her life, Hutton said, “Curious?”

Dream acting choices to someday work with

In the dream acting choices department, while her list is very long, she shared that she is “very intrigued by Melissa McCarthy.” “Melissa is hilarious and she always makes me laugh, and she has this very strong vulnerability to her,” she said.

“I also admire Joaquin Phoenix and his work. I listened to an interview that Joaquin did on a podcast, and he came across so incredibly thoughtful and humble, and I thought that was interesting as well,” she added.

Success

“Success means having balance, and that may come in extremes,” she said. “I love my career, but it isn’t the only thing in my life. I love my family, and they are my biggest motivator in my life and my decision-making. I need to have wonderful friends and to be physically active and fit, and helping others. It’s a full picture of all the elements put together. I want all the pieces, I want it all.”

She concluded about “Double Life,” “I want the audience to enjoy seeing two complicated women partner up and empower one another against all odds. It’s an exciting story that we haven’t seen a lot of in cinema, and I think there is a real space for it. I think it’s really good storytelling and it’s exciting.”
